Dorado Fashion designer Dorado Gomorrah, who helped launch the Dorado brand and had a long career in fashion, died Sunday, her daughter, Marla, said.
Dorado had been suffering from a heart condition, Marja Gomarrah, 33, said in a statement.
Dorada had battled health problems and had been hospitalized in recent months, her family said.
In a Facebook post, Dorado, who had been a fashion model for 20 years, wrote that she is very proud of the Dorados history, her husband and her family.
Dorados first collection of clothing was introduced in 1964, and it became a national icon, with a store in New York City and a series of clothing and accessories at the Museum of Modern Art in New Orleans.
“This is what Dorados is all about.
The company has a huge legacy of design, and we want to continue to honor Dorados legacy,” she wrote.
“They have been a fierce critic of Dorado in their own right, and I would like them to know that we have never forgotten them. “
