In today’s post, I’ve teamed up with TOPSHOP to bring you a minimalist inspired summer look that merges the perfect summer slacks with the on-trend knotted-sleeve blouse. … WHAT TO WEAR THIS SUMMER FEATURING TOPSHOP
Hello! Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite beauty products of late.
First on the list is Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid lipstick, sold in an assortment of perfect shades that range from the best nudes to the most vibrant reds. I’ve really been enjoying the consistency of these lipsticks as they don’t crack on the lips when correctly applied. The color payoff is true to packaging and once the product dries it doesn’t cling to dry patches. These handbag-size friendly lipsticks retail at R189 and are available at CLICKS or DISCHEM pharmacies.
Another new favorite is Catrice’s Camouflage Cream Concealer. The pint-sized pot is so tiny that it easily fits into any size bag, which is great for parties where dainty clutch purses are usually involved. I apply this product with a concealer brush and then pat over with a damp beauty blender to ensure a seamless finish. Retailing at under R100, this cream concealer is affordably priced and worth the spend in my opinion.
If you’re a longtime reader of the blog you’ve probably heard me gush about this next product many times over. M.A.C’s BB Cream is a product I always return to year-in and year-out. I love how easily this product blends into the skin, setting to a soft matte finish. When using this light coverage foundation during summer, I layer a good amount of SPF35 sunscreen underneath for maximum protection during the day.
My final favorite is actually a beauty tool, but one that I use daily. I rely on my eyelash curler when my eyes look really tired and need a boost before applying mascara, but also when I want my lashes to look great even without mascara (pre-gym or beach outing). When purchasing a lash curler opt for a high end tool that has replaceable lash band cushions to get better wear for longer use.

I’ve had heaps of time off these last few weeks, and with all of that free time on my hands I decided to invest a good chunk of it in to my interiors. In today’s post I’ll be sharing with you all the new bits and bobs I’ve added to my space, and share some of my inspiration, compliments of pinterest. … A MIX OF EFFORTLESS, LUXURY INTERIORS
Morning! It’s a sunny Friday in Cape Town and I’m up early, coffee in-tow, thinking about how much has happened this year. We’re nearing the end of a really long and busy year, and in light of all that’s happened, I thought it would be a good time to update you on what’s been going on with me. … 5 THINGS: LIFE UPDATE
If there’s one thing that can almost instantly perk up my mood, it would have to be a pretty cocktail – they’re perfect for summer, which is just around the corner, and come in so many different delicious varieties. Today on the blog I’ll be sharing a recipe concocted by me, and perfectly put together by my other half – a gin & lime zest cocktail with a dash of mint extract. … WEEKEND-APPROVED GIN LIME COCKTAILS
It dawned on me roughly a year ago, that I’ve become far more aware of the freedom I’ve found since defining my own personal style and aesthetic; to think that personal style can have such a tremendous impact on our lives is eye-opening. For many women, finding power might be wearing their favorite skirt or dress, whilst for others, that same feeling might be sought in a modest dress. As women, we have to fight against anyone who tries to presage that power; and to these women, those who choose to stand firmly in their choices, to them I salute. I admire each and every woman who chooses her own definition of freedom, and endeavors to liberate women in spite of.
In light of finding my own confidence, I thought what better way to encapsulate the moment than in this navy power-suit designed by my dear friend, Amber Hennings.

In closing, I hope to encourage each person who reads this to find an unfeigned surety in themselves, to be fearless in a world plagued by trepidation; find your power.

Hello! Today has been a rather laid-back one where I’ve spent the entire time at home, couched out and doing a bit of baking as well. I figured this would be a good chance to make use of the bran muffin mix I bought on Sunday, while simultaneously satisfying my sweet tooth. I initially planned to stick to the recipe but as I went along, I decided to make a few changes, which turned out really good. I thought I’d share my easy adapt on the blog for those wanting to give it a go on their next bake-off. … THE EASIEST BRAN MUFFINS YOU’LL TRY THIS WEEK
This past Sunday, THE MINIMALE BLOGGER ventured out for a little sightseeing with Jeremy Howard, director of Energy Tours in Cape Town, South Africa. On our day-trip we visited a few destinations in hopes of capturing some of the best the Western Cape has to offer. Below are my favorites picks from the day. … A ROAD TRIP WITH ENERGY TOURS
Morning! Today I decided to hop out of bed and finally post this long-overdue recipe on the blog. It took a little thinking on my part as I decided to stray from the original recipe I had in mind when I bought these cute little mason jars the other week. My recipe was inspired on a chance encounter with a rather delicious (and addictive!) oat cookie with chocolate nibs, but can definitely be tweaked to suit a healthier diet – particularly if you’re vegan. … CHOCO-OAT-COOKIE BREAKFAST JAR
Today is rather exciting, as I finally get to share a longtime dream lookbook on the blog. This post features a collaborative effort with a young creative – who’s no stranger to THE MINIMALE BLOGGER – Amber Hennings, head designer for A Seam Studios.
I was lucky enough to wear a few pieces from her upcoming graduation collection, and styled it with a few of my own summer wardrobe favorites. We shot this lookbook in a new location and I love how vibrant the backdrop appears. I was lucky enough to have the boyfriend get behind the lens for this one, … A TANGERINE DREAMSCAPE
As an avid reader of the blog, you might already know about my struggles with sensitive skin. The averse effects that harsh chemicals have had on my skin over the last year have ranged from red hives across my cheeks and temples, to a slightly more manageable stint of very dry skin.
Being the ever cautious beauty enthusiast you’ve come to know on the blog, I was a little weary about trying The Body Shop’s cream body scrub after receiving it as a gift from my Dad from his travels to Paris. … THE BODY SHOP CREME SCRUB
Today on the blog I’ll be sharing my 7-day experience using the Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1 face scrub, Anti-Shine moisturizer and oil-infused Micellar cleansing water.
In order to get the full effects of each product, I decided to incorporate all three products in to my daily skincare routine as recommended by pharmacist Michèle Lalande. Using various products from the same brand within the same range means you’re getting the right amount of each ingredient, which work in sync with one another to prevent an irritation that might occur when incorrectly mixing acidic chemicals. … GARNIER SKINACTIVE REVIEW
